Visual Measurement & Analysis
Precision matters. We measure what others can’t.
At 4ensic Impact LLC, we specialize in extracting accurate measurements and spatial relationships from images and video. Our visual analysis services support attorneys and experts with defensible, scientifically sound metrics — derived from real-world data and validated methods.
Whether it's calculating vehicle speed, confirming distances in surveillance footage, or recreating the point of view in a critical moment, we help turn everyday visuals into technical evidence.

Photogrammetry
We use photogrammetry to convert 2D photographs into scaled 3D models and point clouds. This process enables precise measurement and spatial reconstruction based on imagery from:
DSLR and professional cameras
Cell phone photos
Aerial drone surveys
Structured light scans
By referencing known dimensions and calibrating image data, we can extract real-world measurements like heights, distances, and clearances directly from still photos.
Videogrammetry
When the evidence is captured in motion, we apply videogrammetry to analyze CCTV, dash cam, body cam, and phone video footage. Using frame-by-frame analysis and camera modeling, we identify key positions, object movement, and spatial relationships across time.
This is crucial in cases involving:
Vehicle crash timing
Pursuit or surveillance video
Use-of-force encounters
Security camera footage with limited context
Metadata Extraction & Timecode Sync
Every file holds hidden data — and we know how to read it.We extract metadata such as timestamps, frame rates, geolocation, and device information to ensure accurate timeline alignment across multiple sources. By synchronizing videos and stills from different angles or devices, we create a unified and consistent sequence of events.
Virtual Camera Matching
We match virtual cameras to real-world images or videos to reconstruct perspectives with high fidelity. This technique allows us to:
Recreate the scene as seen by a specific witness or camera
Confirm or challenge line-of-sight claims
Analyze angles, fields of view, and visual limitations
Match animation and 3D visuals directly to recorded evidence
Speed, Distance & Time Calculations
Using known frame rates, scale references, and object tracking, we calculate:
Travel distances and stopping times
Speed estimates based on displacement over time
Acceleration and deceleration phases
Relative timing between moving objects or individuals
These calculations are backed by documented methodology and can be paired with visual exhibits to explain findings in court or mediation.
